This post will require some reading. I recently had a chat with someone at a diner. We talked at length about the economy and politics. We got on the subject of corruption. It seemed we were on the “same page”, both agreeing there are some major problems within our nation and around the world.
The person then mentioned the Zeitgeist Movie and told me to watch it.
Well instead of watching it, I wiki’d it and read about it.
You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeitgeist,_the_Movie
After reading about it, I realized that that person and I certainly did not see the world exactly the same way and this shook me up a little.
It’s amazing to think you are hearing someone when you’re really hearing what you want. There I was talking to this person who seemed “to get it”. There I was thinking we were agreeing to things like supporting a government of the people, for the people and by the people. There I was thinking we were talking about the need to lower taxes for all and pulling on the reigns of out of control government officials.
What we talked about, I thought, was a love of the United States of America and the Constitution.
Little did I know then, that this person believes in “living with one in the environment” and “9/11 inside jobs” and is a proponent of nothing short of anarchism. Little did I know how little they respected my God, Jesus Christ.
That was scary. I’m honestly sick to my stomach when I read silliness like what about the Zeitgeist movie is all about. Do I want to see it? Yes, because it gives me insight into what my enemy is thinking and what they believe.
Yes, that’s right…my enemy.
There we were; two Americans, chatting it up about “change”.
Now I know, there was only one American in that conversation.
I love America with all her “flaws”. I love our flaws.
If freedom to pursuit happiness (as I know it and understand it), life and liberty is a crime, well then baby, I’m ready to be a fugitive of “justice”.
To me, that’s the key point that libertarian socialists, fascists, nazi’s, communists, anarchist, and others don’t get. They do not understand the basic principle of the United States Of America.
Libertarian socialists, fascists, nazi’s, communists, anarchist, and others that support a platform which ultimately tells people how to live, is not what America was founded on. And while libertarian socialists espouse support for individual freedom, they still support a basic element that tells people like me, how to live my life.
There’s a Bill of Rights in this country. Now if President Obama wants to say it’s fundamentally flawed, well that’s his choice and he will be absolutely voted out of office in 2012, without question.
He made an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, not say it was flawed. That Bill of Rights affords me and every other American citizen rights and no libertarian socialist is going to change that. Ever.
We the people, will not allow it. We will not let it stand!
